About these tools

Almost every “free PDF tool” on the web works the same way: you upload your document to a server you know nothing about, it is processed there, and you are asked to trust a privacy policy. For a restaurant menu that is fine. For a signed contract, a passport scan, a medical letter or a payslip, it is a genuinely bad idea — and those are exactly the documents people most often need to merge, split or compress.

This toolkit takes the opposite approach. Every operation runs inside your browser tab using pdf-lib and PDF.js, the same open-source engines that render PDFs in Chrome and Firefox. Your file is read from disk into memory, transformed and written back out without a single byte crossing the network. That also makes it fast: there is no upload wait, no queue and no download step — just the operation itself.

The trade-off is that heavy documents are bounded by your device’s memory rather than a server’s. In practice a modern phone handles a few hundred pages comfortably, and a laptop handles thousands.

Frequently asked questions

Are these PDF tools completely free?

Yes — every tool is free with no account, no watermark, no page limit and no daily cap. There is nothing to install and nothing to upgrade to.

Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?

No. Every tool runs entirely in your browser using your own device’s processing. Your documents never leave your computer, which is why these tools are safe for confidential files.

Do the PDF tools work on a phone?

Yes. The whole toolkit is responsive and works in modern mobile browsers on both iOS and Android, including drag-to-reorder page grids.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no hard limit imposed by us. The practical ceiling is your device’s available memory — most everyday documents process instantly.

Will merging or rotating reduce quality?

No. Merge, split, rotate, organise, watermark and page-number operations copy page content losslessly, so text stays selectable and images keep their original quality. Only the compressor deliberately re-encodes pages.
